Scandalous by H.M. Ward

Scandalous (Scandalous, #1)Scandalous by H.M. Ward
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cover & Title - 4 out of 5
Favorite Quote - “You make me want you in every possible way. I’ve never wanted to do that so much in my life. Every inch of you is divine, like you were sculpted for me, and me alone.”
Favorite Character - Abby

Let me down slow and easy
Cause there ain't nothin' I can do
I hope and pray my faith won't leave me
When it comes down to me and you

This book was fresh, new and interesting. I was confused, worried almost how the author would manage to take a character from a minister to a sex loving woman. However the build up to the passion, sex.. the love, it was perfect.

You lyin' next to me
Fulfilled some destiny
I wanna cry
But I breathe a sigh

Abby did not come across like some wanton, turn coat hussy. No she was a woman who had missed a chance, a moment that changed her life & not for the better. She was still moral, full of understanding and a lovely character, she evolved throughout the book, she realized, they realized they were meant to be together. She spoke about soul-mates and I can honestly say that is what they felt like (for me) during this story. I was totally involved in their love and i adored it.

Overflow of emotion
And a hurt that'll never heal
If you close the door forever
The fate of pain is sealed

Towards the end of the book when the scandal happens, I was emotional. I was so worried everything was going to go to hell. Thankfully I got my happy ending and it came about in an amazing and moving way.
I am so glad i read this book and i would seriously recommend it. I am dashing of to read the next in the series now!

DangerousDangerous by Jax
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cover & Title - 4 of of 5
Favorite Character - Devon

The last book i read by this author I really struggled to get into and in general i did not enjoy it. The blurb for this book got my attention, it sounded like just the type of book I enjoy. So I put my reservations aside and picked it up, I am glad i did.

There were a few negatives but they were very minor. I want to know more about the world and the morphate’s - I guess they will be mentioned more in books to come. This book was a beginning, a tease almost. I am looking forward to reading more in the series that is for sure.

The characters, chemistry and story all worked for me. I thought the sex scenes and passion between them was hot, it seemed real and it fitted how their characters had been portrayed during the story.

The ending was good but the epilogue, i did a little girly squeal when i read it!

I would recommend this book and read more in the series.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cover & Title - 5 out of 5
Favorite Quote - “Uhh, I thought I saw a gopher.”
He frowned skeptically. “We don’t get a lot of gophers around here.”
“You can never be too careful. Once they get a foothold,” I shook my head dramatically, “they’re a bitch to get rid of.” Why did it suddenly seem like the gopher metaphor referred to Tiffany?"
Favorite Character - Samantha

There was a lot to love about this book as it was packed full of emotion, humor and interesting characters. The story kept me guessing and i was pleasantly surprised by how it turned out. There were a lot of good one liners, i laughed out loud more than a few times. I liked it, i would recommend it & i would read more by this author.

The Dominant (The Submissive Trilogy, #2) by Tara Sue Me

The Dominant (The Submissive Trilogy, #2)The Dominant by Tara Sue Me
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I think it is because I am in the life style that i found so many errors with this book, maybe if i was a bored vanilla housewife (not that there is anything wrong with being that) I would of thought this book was kinky & exciting.
Instead i found this book completely and utterly ridiculous.
I sighed, I rolled my eyes, I got angry, I considered poking my eyes out... maybe even smashing my kindle into my face so i would never have to read drivel like this again all while reading this book.
I would recommend this to no-one, I would recommend if you are given it as a gift, using it as a paper weight or doorstop.. do not waste a second of your life reading this!

I also recommend it as kindling..

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cover & title - four out five
Favorite Quote - “I’m sick of everyone thinking I’m Miss Goody Two-shoes, with my perfect grades, and days of the week panties. You know what? I have my Wednesdays on today—it’s Saturday—and that’s a pretty sad way of rebelling, huh?”
Favorite Character - Alexa

This was a really cute story, lots of emotions and micro dramas to keep me hooked. The book was far to short for my liking, I wanted more! The characters even with their faults appealed to me and i liked them all. I was so pleased with how everything worked out and the epilogue was the icing on the proverbial cake, fantastic stuff!

I would recommend this and I will continue reading all the books that this author releases as I have enjoyed them all so far!

I found myself connected to Emily, it is such an interesting idea and she goes through so much during the story.. through so many emotions that i couldn't help but feel like i was living it with her.
I was deeply involved in the story, I think you really have to be, a hell of a lot goes on and things can change in a second. I ended up re-reading a few bits to make sure i was fully comprehending what was going on.
I was rather concerned about reading out of my comfort zone but i did not need to worry really, it was an interesting, gripping and emotion story. I would recommend it and i would read more in the future by this author.

The Elite by Kiera Cass

The Elite (The Selection, #2)The Elite by Kiera Cass
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cover & title - 4 out of 5
Favorite quote - "It's the most wonderful and terrible thing that can ever happen to you," she said simply. "You know that you've found something amazing, and you want to hold on to it forever; and every second after you have it, you fear the moment you might lose it."
I sighed softly. She was absolutely right. Love was beautiful fear.”
Favorite character - Aspen

I wonder if it is wrong to admit though i did really enjoy the book I really did not like America? I did not like Maxon either actually now i think about it.
Considering i just admitted to not liking the main characters it is surprising that i rated it 4 stars but that is just how good it was!

“It wasn’t like I made his world better. It was like I was his world. It wasn’t some explosion; it wasn’t fireworks. It was a fire, burning slowly from the inside out.”

I have not read the first book but i really wish i had now, i think that would of connected to the leads better and maybe help me understand more about the world that the book is based in.
The entire book i felt like i was on a see-saw. Aspen - Maxon, then back again. This sort of behavior normally would put me off a book completely, maybe even cause me to stop reading it but I could not put this book down!
It did not feel like a YA book, or childish, it was just right.
I would recommend it to everyone, but make sure to read the first book!

Ink (Paper Gods, #1) by Amanda Sun

Ink (Paper Gods, #1)Ink by Amanda Sun
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Cover & Title - five out of five, cover love for sure.
Favorite Line - “They tell you you'll forget how it used to be. You'll get used to it, that it's better to move on. They don't realize you can't. You're not the same person anymore.”
Favorite Character - Tomohiro

“How do you win when you're up against yourself?”

I must start with this because i feel it is the most important part of my review. I felt too old for this book. I am almost positive if i was a teen i would of enjoyed the story more & rated it higher.

So, now that has been said, I liked this book & i thought the concept was rather unique. The book contained a lot of things to hold my attention, I was not "hooked" by the story but i enjoyed it.
It was a good teenage urban fantasy style drama, lots of things that at my age i found hard to relate to now, I would recommend it to females under the age of 18.

Damaged (Damaged, #1) by H.M. Ward

Damaged (Damaged, #1)Damaged by H.M. Ward
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Cover & title - 4 out of 5
Favorite Quote - “Being normal is overrated. Normal gets you what—the dolt husband with the 2.5 kids and the house with the dog? You seriously want that? I mean, one of those kids is going to be really funny looking, by the way, all cut in half like that. Who wants half a kid?”
Favorite character - Sydney

Okay, first thing.. i do not think the ending is a cliff hanger..
cliff·hang·er
/ˈklifˌhaNGər/
Noun
An ending to an episode of a serial drama that leaves the audience in suspense.
A story or event with a strong element of suspense.

I was not left with the feeling of suspense.. at all.

I found this book rather frustrating.
I did not manage to "click" with Sydney, she had a few plus points but not enough that I liked her. I really dislike the fact the author did not know her characters name, it constantly changed throughout the book - this drove me nuts.
I kinda thought her friend Millie was a bit of a bitch.. not my idea of a friendship for sure.
I found the way the relationship was "handled" rather stupid. The back and forth, on, off.. whatever.. it did not work for me most of the time.
In the end i did want them to be ok, the relationship to work out, for a bit of positive but in the first book of a series like this i realize i was expecting too much.
It was a quick read and that was a plus, if it had dragged out I would of rated it lower than i did. I also did not want to stop reading so that shows the story wasn't half bad. I will read the next in the series.. to see how things work out and if the writing improves.

Would i recommend it? I really do not know. It wasnt bad but.. I just do not think i can tell someone to spend their money on something i am so undecided about.

Gameboard of the Gods (Age of X, #1) by Richelle Mead

Gameboard of the Gods (Age of X, #1)Gameboard of the Gods by Richelle Mead
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was unsure what to expect when i started this book, the main reason I wanted this book was the author. Every book written by Richelle Mead which i read i have enjoyed and this book is no exception.

The story is based in a futuristic dystopia, it liked the concept as I am a huge fan of dystopia. The world itself seemed really interesting, i looking forward to discovering more about it in future books.
I found the characters engaging, flawed & complicated. Mae was my type of protagonist, I enjoyed her a lot. I thought the secondary characters held their own and added greatly to the story.
The story its self kept me guessing, held my attention and entertained me. I was absorbed in the story very quickly.
The writing sucked me in, even though i felt somethings could of been explained sooner or even better a few times, I still found myself a part of the story.

"No one ever expects the knife"

I would recommend this book & I am already looking forward to the next books in the series.

The Accidental Demon Slayer (Demon Slayer, #1) by Angie Fox

The Accidental Demon Slayer (Demon Slayer, #1)The Accidental Demon Slayer by Angie Fox
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I did not really enjoy the majority of this book, I found it all a bit scattered.. disjointed.. unbelievable.. at times even down right silly. I realize the story is a fantasy.. so it is allowed to rather farcical but there were times when i actually shook my head, put the book down and considered not continuing at all. Lizzie is not even an interesting or funny character.. i found her very annoying.
The dog was however funny and i liked him.. he was probably the only plus in the entire book.

Favorite Character - Ryan

“That must be love: when everything else in the world could implode and you wouldn't care as long as you had that one person standing beside you.”

This book, completely blew me away. I knew i was going like this book, I hoped i was going to love this book.
This book, much like the first in the series was magnificent. I fell in love with the story, I fell in love with the characters & I loved the feelings that me book produced in me.
The story was fantastic, I was completely engrossed in it, I did not want to stop reading it - ever.
I smiled, I laughed, I cried, I got angry, I went through so many emotions during it I thought my head might explode!
The books in the series are like light rays of hope to me, they make me believe in a happy ending no matter what... and i love that. Bravo to the author.
I encourage anyone and everyone to read them.
