Deception (The Vedeine Saga, #1) by Ashley Strachan

Deception (The Vedeine Saga, #1)Deception by Ashley Strachan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Because of the name of the book i spent the first 3rd of the book suspicious of all the characters, waiting to see who would be the betrayer. Who it turned out to be wasn't that surprising but the level of deception & what actual occurred was.
I liked the relationships between the the lead characters & the love story was nice & easy going.

So i thought this book was an great concept. The Vedeine as a race are different & interesting. There abilities & problems were unusual.

(view spoiler)[The only thing i didn't really get was the ending... I was loving the beach wedding & then! I don't know maybe i was hoping for a HEA? I am guessing the next books in the series will help fill in the gaps/help my comprehension of the ending. (hide spoiler)]

What a fantastically fucked up book!
Wow my mind is blown by the creepy & twistedness of this story. I LOVED this book.
It was dark and depressing but moving & uplifting also at times.
I cannot wait to read the next books!

Whisper Cape (Whisper Cape, #1)Whisper Cape by Regan Walsh
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A fantastic four star paranormal romance.
This novel is filled with mystery & love. I had no idea who the bad guy was & was totally surprised but pleased by the ending. The story is well written & the concept is great. I liked the powers & found the idea refreshing. It was a lovely book full of emotion. There are sex scenes but they are really nicely written, not at all sleazy like some i have read.

Hemlock (Hemlock, #1) by Kathleen Peacock

Hemlock (Hemlock, #1)Hemlock by Kathleen Peacock
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a great YA werewolf story. It had action, mystery & suspense. I liked Mac & the other secondary characters. I didn't figure out ahead of time how the story was going to end, i did guess who the nemesis wolf was but i totally couldn't figure out the why or how.

The love story was believable & i don't actually think it really counts as a triangle *shrug*

I recommend 12+ as there is alcohol involved a few times & sex is mentioned. The main reason was for the violence & gore factor.

What a steamy short read that was!
I downloaded this book tonight for a quick read before i shower & head to bed. I better make it a cold shower after this book :) Ha!
This book contains male/female sex, three males/female sex, m/f anal sex, oral sex & foreplay. No M/M scenes.
Totally worth a read, would recommend to anyone look for some hot shifter sex :)

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As i have mentioned in other reviews when I download an amazon freebie, i pretty much always expect a 3 star or lower class of book. This book blew me away. The writing & editing are fantastic. The concept & story are brilliant. It was refreshing & interesting. The fae weren't the same as the cookie cutter version most authors use so that was a plus.
As soon as i finished this book i rushed on goodreads hoping that book 2 had been released so i could buy it & read it tonight! Sadly it is out yet so i will have to be patient :(
When the book started i had no idea how it was going to play out & i must say it was a brilliant surprise. I loved the characters & the interactions between them.
I would recommend this book & I will read the following books in the series.

If you enjoyed this book I also recommend The Changelings another fae book which i really enjoyed :)

The Dark Side of Night by Amanda Day

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The story was engrossing, I enjoyed it the whole way through. The ending was interesting, i hope there will be more in the series as i need to know more! I liked how the story flipped back & forth between Oscar's & Cyan's point of view. It was intriguing seeing what they each thought of certain interactions.
Oscar is a very likable character. I liked his interactions with all the other characters, especially between him & Cyan. His feeling's were believable & well written.
Cyan is a mystery at the start of the book but as the book goes on you find out more & more about her. She is a kick-ass protagonist. I loved reading her fighting & training scenes.

I would recommend this book & i will read more by the author.

Demon Possession (Shadow Quest, #1) by Kiersten Fay

Demon Possession (Shadow Quest, #1)Demon Possession by Kiersten Fay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Because of how many sex/sexual scene's are in this book, you would think the story would be pants/non existent but there is a lot more than just hot nookie going on!
The build up to the main characters relationship is more realistic than most romance novels i have read. The interactions between them seem real too. I liked the characters & felt emotion towards them.
I would read this book again, probably read the follow up's in the series & i would recommend it.

4+ book for sure!
I was so surprised by how great this book is. It is so hit or miss with an amazon freebie as i am sure you are aware! I went on to goodreads & read the authors page only to discover that it was only a freebie for a few days - i feel so lucky that i managed to get it. Let me tell you i will read the next book for sure!
This YA Fantasy/Paranormal Romance has all the right ingredients to make it amazing. The story is fantastic, the editing is great & the concept is brilliant. I love elves/fairy stories, maybe it is because i wish i was a fairy :) ! Anyway, the characters are great. I found myself getting the feelings along with Lily, being mad or sad or happy when she was. That is when you know it is fantastic writing!
I classed it as YA because the protagonist Lily is 18 but i really don't it is childish at all. It is suitable for like 12+ with a only a few kisses mentioned - but don't worry that doesn't mean its short in emotion! Infact it is jam packed with feelings.
I am really looking forward to the next book & cannot wait to read it :)

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I managed to pick this book up as a freebie from Amazon.
I must say from the cover i expected a dirty/romance novel - it comes across that way too me (sorry cover maker!). It turns out the book is not a dirty or romance it is an urban fantasy.

I enjoyed the book & I liked the characters. It was a long but interesting story, it had a lot packed in. I would recommend it & I will read other books released in the series. I hope the author continues Chris story as i would love to see how she further adapts to her new life.

Faelorehn - Book One of the Otherworld Trilogy by Jenna Elizabeth Johnson

Faelorehn - Book One of the Otherworld TrilogyFaelorehn - Book One of the Otherworld Trilogy by Jenna Elizabeth Johnson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Meghan is an interesting character she is not traditionally beautiful, overly smart or super kickass like the general protagonist is. She is a deep character with many problems facing her. Her life has been hard & she has to struggle with not quite fitting in everyday.
Characters like this almost always draw me in, i like when everything is not easy & the characters has flaws. Needless to say i liked Meghan.
I also liked her friends & family. I am looking forward to reading the next books in the series & finding out more about them.

The book is interesting & it has new aspects to a YA fantasy which make it worth a read. Meghan is 17, i would say though that younger & older people could read it as it is not too childish or too grown up. There aren't any sex/sexual scenes that would make it unsuitable for younger readers.

I enjoyed this book & i will read the follow up books for sure :)

Silence (The Queen of the Dead, #1) by Michelle Sagara West

Silence (The Queen of the Dead, #1)Silence by Michelle Sagara West
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Can I explain in words why this book touched my heart? I really don't know but i will try...
MILD SPOILER!

I have a four year old son, i cried so much at the thought of my son being trapped somewhere constantly burning. It was hard to read this book because of this. I wept while reading this book, i truly felt like i was right there in the moment with Emma. Michelle is an awesome writer, i have enjoyed every book i have read by her & this is no exception. I got lost in the story, lost in Emma's world.. I felt like i was living it.. I think being a mother really helped add to this.
It was a powerful story filled with love, loss, sadness & happiness. I loved this book. I love book's where life is hard & people struggle.
This book is amazing, read it, cry with it & love it.
